Sixth round: GM Srinath Narayanan is now in the lead

From:

Indian GM Srinath Narayanan (2549) is obviously feeling very comfortable in the Faroe Islands. Last summar he won the first Faroes Open in Kollafjørður infront of peruvian GM Julio Granda. This year he was again among the favourites to win, but he didn’t get off to a good start playing a draw against Sergio Esteve Sanchez (1994) in his first game. But he has been playing really well since that first game. In his last 5 games he has won 4 and drew 1. His draw was against rating favourite GM Gawain Jones (2670), while he has wins against Flóvin M. Tummasarson (1237), FM Rógvi E. Nielsen (2337), FM Høgni E. Nielsen (2397), and IM Eylon Nakar (2462).

The last win came today against Israelian IM Eylan Nakar (2462). The win has put GM Srinath Narayanan (2549) in the lead all by himself, and he seems to be on his way to win Faroes Open for a second year in a row.

GM Srinath Narayanan (2549) is now in the lead of the Faroes Open after a win against IM Eylon Nakar (2463).

The other very exciting game in the top today was between GM Vitaly Kunin (2538) and GM Gawain Jones (2670). This game ended in a draw, which is one of the reasons why GM Srinath Narayanan (2549) now is in the lead by himself.

GM Normunds Miezis (2463) is now also among the closest followers in the top. He won today with black against FM Vladimir Jotic (2387).

GM Normunds Miezis (2463) got a good win today and is now trailing the leader by just ½ a point.

There are also three Faroese players with just one point up to leader GM Srinath Narayanan (2549). GM Helgi Dam Ziska (2552) and FM Høgni E. Nielsen (2397) drew today, which mean they are both on 4 points. FM Rógvi E. Nielsen (2337) got a win today against WIM Sue Maroroa (2104), which also puts him on 4 points.
