Seventh round: Closer in the top

IM Srinath Narayanan (2505) is still the leader in Faroes Open after today’s games, but it is getting closer in the top after Narayanan only managed to get a draw today. It was a good draw though for the leader with black against GM Helgi Dam Ziska (2544).
The favorite GM Julio Granda Zuniga (2656) is now only a ½ point clear of Narayanan after his win against Faroese FM Høgni Egilstoft Nielsen, who has had a great tournament so far. This was his first loss.
IM John Rødgaard won with black against GM Normunds Miezis.
This was in fact a bad day for the top Faroese players in the tournament with losses to FM Høgni Egilstoft Nielsen, FM Rógvi Egilstoft Nielsen, FM Hans Kristian Simonsen, Jón í Horni Nielsen and Ingi Wiberg. The exceptions were GM Helgi Dam Ziska, who got a draw against IM Srinath Narayanan, and IM John Rødgaard, who got a good win with black against GM Normunds Miezis.
