Julio Ernesto Granda Zúñiga (25/2-1967) is a Peruvian chess grandmaster currently ranked number 100 in the world with an ELO rating of 2658 (FIDE April 2017)

Julio Granda obtained the titel of International Master (IM) in 1984 and two years later, at the age of 19, surpassing a rating of 2500 and officially becoming a chess Grandmaster (GM)

Julio Granda has been chess champion of Peru on five different occassions winning in 1994,1995,1996, 1997 and 2002. In addition to these championships Granda has also won the 4th American Continental Championship in 2007 and then winning the tournament three more times, in 2012, 2013 and 2014. He has also represented Peru on 11 times in the Chess Olympiads from 1986 and till 2014

In the Chess World Cup in 2013, Julio Granda reached round 4, after knocking out Hrant Melkumyan, Peter Leko and Anish Giri before being defeated by Fabiano Caruana.
