First round: Favorites winning

There were no surprises in the first round of the Faroes Open today. There were clear favorites on all tables and they all managed to win.
Rógvi Mortensen (1939) had a chance to draw against GM Helgi Dam Ziska (2544), but he didn’t manage to find the right combination.
However there were some exciting games. The home favorite GM Helgi Dam Ziska (2544) had some problems with black against Faroese Rógvi Mortensen (1939). Rógvi Mortensen made a really good move sacrificing a rook and only needed to find the right combination for the draw, but he didn’t manage to do just that.
There will be two rounds played tomorrow starting at 10 a.m. local time. In the first round tomorrow there will be some exciting games. Amongst those there will be one exciting games for the Faroese viewers between GM Helgi Dam Ziska (2544) and FM Rógvi Egilstoft Nielsen (2353).
